Early Gold offers resistance to a common issue with pears - fireblight. It presents an improvement to the common Ure pear with fruit maturing earlier and also being more hardy. Early Gold is also a worthy tree for ornamental value alone - in spring, Early Gold has large amounts of white flowers which is followed in fall by impressively bright fall foliage.

The hardiest pear available on the prairies. Ussurian delights with beautiful flowers in the spring and intense fall colours. Ussurian makes a great pollinator but produces smaller and harder pears than other varieties. Pears are sweeter after a frost and work well in preserves.
